Couchbase: Problem Statement - Develop a project leveraging the power of Azure AI/ML services and Couchbase NoSQL database to solve a data driven real-world problem.

Prize: One or two internships at Couchbase, offering a monthly salary of approximately USD 500.

Location: Bangalore, 3 days at the office, 2 days work from home. The winners will have the opportunity to work on integrating Couchbase support into open-source AI frameworks, SDKs, and tools.

Project Objectives

Develop a project leveraging the power of Azure AI/ML services and Couchbase NoSQL database to solve a data driven real-world problem.

Steps and Requirements

1. Define the Problem Statement
a. Clearly outline the problem you aim to solve using AI/ML.
b. Identify the target users and how your solution will benefit them.
2. Set Up Couchbase in Azure or in Capella
3. Set Up Azure AI/ML
4. Data Preparation
a. Collect and prepare data required for your AI/ML models.
b. Store your data in Couchbase, ensuring efficient data retrieval and management.
c. The following Couchbase features and services should be used wherever applicable, such as N1QL queries, KV, Index, Analytics, Eventing, FTS (Full-Text Search), Vector Search and XDCR.
5. Develop AI/ML Models
a. Choose appropriate algorithms and techniques for your problem.
b. Train and evaluate models using Azure Machine Learning.
c. Optimize model performance.
6. Integration
a. Integrate trained models with your application.
b. Ensure seamless interaction between Azure AI/ML services and Couchbase.
c. Develop APIs or services to access model predictions.
7. Deployment
a. Deploy your application on a suitable platform (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure VM).
8. Data Security
a. Ensure that the application follows best practices for data security.
9. Testing
a. Thoroughly test your application for functionality and performance.
10. Documentation
a. Document your code, architecture, and deployment process.
b. Prepare user guides and technical documentation.

Evaluation Criteria

Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Innovation: How innovative and original is the solution?
2. Technical Implementation: Quality and complexity of the technical implementation.
3. Integration: Seamless integration of Azure AI/ML with Couchbase.

Problem statement 2: Best Application using AI and blockchain to build an application that is not a part of the 3 above solutions. We are offering a bounty choice of either 1,000 USDC (1 USDC = 1 USD) or $900 USD. We are offering a slightly larger payout if you choose to receive funds in USDC.

Build an application (mobile or web app) that focuses on innovative solutions with novel and bespoke use cases.

Examples may include the following;
– Use blockchain in an AI use case around payments for inferences or compute. Extra points for developing AI agents that can bank themselves by receiving USDC for tasks they perform, and spending USDC on services or other AI agents to complete more tasks. –
– A blockchain-based social platform that also leverages AI, empowering secure transactions and sustainable growth through trusted identities and digital content creation.
– A creator-focused platform that utilises AI, USDC and smart contracts for content production, distribution, and monetisation with full creator control and ownership.
– A DeFi application that leverages AI and CCTP for improved interoperability, enabling cross-chain payments and swaps with enhanced security and liquidity.
– Gaming applications

2. Development Process – The submission includes clear and comprehensive documentation of the development process, including gists, sketches, discussions, and any issues encountered. Ensure the commit history demonstrates a steady and iterative development approach, not just one large pull request.

3. Integration Challenges/Feedback: The submission meticulously details any integration challenges with the provided API and documentation and the adept use of GitHub Issues to document problems and their resolutions extensively. We look forward to seeing documented feedback around how the solution and the corresponding resources can be improved and what you’d like to see to enhance your use case’s building.

4. Presentation and Documentation: The submission’s presentation and video detail its features and the integration of the programmable wallets API, while its well-structured documentation, including code comments, simplifies understanding and further development.
